Promise Chaplet for the Poor Souls in Purgatory

"If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire." (1 Corinthians 3:15)

This is a depiction of what the Promise Chaplet looks like.
The Promise Prayer was given to St. Gertrude. Our Lord promised that each and every time the prayer was recited that 1,000 souls would be released from purgatory.

  • Begin with the Sign of the Cross

  • On each of the first three beads say a Glory Be

  • On Medal say:
May all the souls of the faithful departed through the Mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.

  • On the fifteen beads, say the promise prayer given to St. Gertrude:
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, Those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

  • Closing on the medal:
Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
